OLEK @ Tony's Gallery

Tony's is my favourite small gallery.  Today I went to the private view of its new exhibition of Olek, an artist I actually have never heard before.
Olek is actually Agata Oleksiak, Polish-born (YEAH!) artist from Poznań, but based in New York. Renowed for her use of crocheted yarn as a medium both indoors and on the street, the artist has created a major installation and sculptural environment: a distinctive Olek-esque living quarters filled with domestic objects of all kinds. These, along with the gallery walls and florr (take your shoes off!) have been entirely covered in crochet.
Don't forget to visit Tony's Gallery, when you are around Brick Lane!
