It's always been hard for Polish artists, mainly, musicians to have a big international careers. Apart from few names like Krzysztof Penderecki, Fryderyk Chopin, Tomasz Stańko or Urszula Dudziak we actually don't have anyone (especially young, fresh faces) who represents us on the international scene.
Thats why I wanna introduce you to one of my favourites. As a fashion styling student, I was looking for great visual work, for something different, creative and influencial. And I found Brodka. The interesting thing for me is also the whole process of creating the image of the artist: fashion, covers, costumes for the gigs, entire scenography on the stage, costumes for the members of the band... Everything. I find it really amazing - creating the brand new thing from nothing. Brodka is the perfect example to show how does it work. It took her four years to come up with her new project "Granda" .She wasn't only responsible for the music, but also for the way she looks like and what's happening on the stage, when performing.
The main inspiration was Polish folk mixed with electronic beats.
The same feeling we see when we look at Monika's fashion choices.
So check her looks from the gigs and her amazing vid for "Krzyżówka Dnia" ("Crossword of the Day")
INSPIRING!
